Tom Ford Estee Lauder Collection

Estee LauderThis summer let Estee Lauder transport you to the mythical shores of Azuree with a stunning new fragrance and colour collection.

Building on the success of azuree, an expanded collection, azuree soleil Tom Ford Estee Lauder Collection debuts for summer 2007. This beautiful new collection re-interprets Estee Lauder’s past into a fragrance and colour collection that is both modern and timeless.

Encased in a gorgeous vintage blue packaging – a reinterpretation of the original Azuree fragrance created by Estee Lauder in 1969 – the 19-piece azuree soleil Tom Ford Estee Lauder Collection features two distinctive summer makeup looks, soiree and bronzee, as well as intoxicanting new forms of the azuree frangrance.

Two key looks

For a touch of seaside glamour, plum and natural palettes capture two new fashion forward looks. Bronzee’s neutral shade palette focuses on sheer, soft bronzed hues with a hint of shine, while soiree’s sultry plum palette adds subtle shade intensity for a hint of drama.

The fragrance

Following the success of the seductive, summery scented The Body Oil Spray, the azuree soleil Tom Ford Estee Lauder Collection features two new forms of the azuree fragrance which cling to the skin with the alluring scent of azuree: azuree soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent, a pampering all over body spray, and azuree soleil Body Lotion, a refreshing after sun moisturiser.

The new azuree collection is available at selected Estee Lauder counters nationwide.

Fragrance News of Tom Ford

Tom Ford for menThe Tom Ford brand continues to be on a fast track expansion with no less than four upcoming releases: Tom Ford for Men, Tom Ford for Men Extreme, Black Orchid Voile de Fleur, and an as of yet unnamed women’s perfume to be launched in the spring of 2008. As previously reported, Tom Ford is interested in establishing brand recognition in the sphere of fragrances as quickly as humanly possible and is doing everything in order to be perceived as a leading perfume house with a substantial catalogue of creations to boot, which means 16 in just one year…..

On September 23rd of 2007, Tom Ford for Men will debut at Saks. A key ingredient, Cypriol, has been added to the mix so as to render it sexy and as a substitute for natural musk. “The juice, created by Ford in cooperation with International Flavors & Fragrances, opens with Mediterranean Hesperdic [sic] notes combined with lemon leaf oil, Italian bergamot, mandarin zest, basil grand vest, violet leaves and ginger. The heart is of Tunisian orange flower absolute, black pepper, tobacco leaf absolute and Moroccan grapefruit flower. The drydown is of deep amber accord, cedarwood heart, Virginia patchouli, vetiver mist, oakmoss, leatherwood and the aforementioned cypriol. The ridged clear glass bottle is reminiscent of Ford’s Black Orchid women’s scent and features an engraved name plaque embellished with 18-karat gold plating. Outer packaging is black with gold accents and a gold label. The scent will be available in two sizes, $55 for 50 ml. and $78 for 100 ml.”

Next in mid-November comes Tom Ford for Men Extreme which will be available in the selective distribution circuit of the Tom Ford boutiques and is presented as the niche version of Tom Ford for Men. This means, as we had noted previously and as confirmed by Tom Ford himself now that it will be a more powerful version of the more mass-marketed one. Here’s our own quote regarding the feel of his niche offerings: “The fragrances make big statements; the collection could have been called “Intense” or “Extreme Ford” and it is in this respect that it is the most remarkable since otherwise many of the fragrances can be traced back to other existing fragrances.”

In the fall, Black Orchid Voile de Fleur will be introduced. It was originally the eau de toilette version of Black Orchid. Expect an injection of white florals into the black orchid accord.

Finally a mystery women’s fragrance that is already all done will be presented in the spring of 2008.

Tom Ford goes Swiss

tom_ford_black.jpgSwitzerland : Tom Ford beauty makes travel retail debut at Zurich airport

June 22, 2007

Fashion legend Tom Ford is making his beauty debut in travel retail by exclusively launching his signature fragrance “Tom Ford Black Orchid” at five selected locations across the globe. The Nuance Group is proud to be among the very first travel retailers to offer the scent, which is now available from The Nuance Group’s Perfume & Cosmetics stores at Zurich International Airport.

Celebrated fashion designer Tom Ford created his own Tom Ford Beauty brand in April 2005 in alliance with Estee Lauder. The brand was designed to create and market a stand-alone fragrance and beauty collection under the Tom Ford Beauty label. This was launched in November 2006 with a signature fragrance called “Tom Ford Black Orchid”.

Now, Tom Ford Beauty is making its debut in travel retail. Five exclusive airports across the world have been chosen for the launch. In travel retail, the fragrance will be exclusively available at Zurich and four other airports until late summer 2007.

Stephan Salvisberg, Managing Director Switzerland, expressed his satisfaction at having been chosen as one of the first locations to stock this exclusive new fragrance. “Zurich Airport ranks first among the world when it comes to design, neatness and customer service. It therefore doesn’t come as a surprise that Zurich has been chosen by fashion legend Tom Ford as one of the select locations where his beauty brand makes its travel retail debut.”

President of Tom Ford Beauty, Andrea Robinson, stated: “We are truly delighted to launch the Tom Ford Beauty brand with The Nuance Group at Zurich International Airport. We know that today’s travellers will appreciate this exclusive partnership that brings three prestige brands – a premium retailer, a first-rate airport and the best-selling Tom Ford beauty brand – together under one roof.”

Tom Ford on Gucci, his new store and vaginas

VaginaTom Ford explained his feeling about his departure from Gucci in recent interview: “My life at Gucci was like being married, having two kids, and living in a house you’ve built. Then you come home one day, the door’s locked, and your wife is in there fucking someone else.” Ford and company CEO Domenico de Sole left Gucci after disagreeing with new PPR bosses over creative control of the Group.

Ford seems fully commited to his menswear store for the time being saying he built it for “all the guys I know, all my friends, who can’t fucking find anything to wear” and chose a unique startpoint for the store’s lavish design “I thought the men’s store had to be designed around a vagina”!

Tom Ford wants Anderson Cooper

Tom Ford and Anderson CooperAnderson Cooper and Tom ford have been seen having lunch in Manhattan and they got New Yorkers buzzing overtime about WHAT they might be talking about. Actually Tom ford was offering Anderson a job as spokesman for his new cologne line coming out later this summer. Cooper was impressed with the scent and flattered to be considered for such a gig, but explained he already had plans for the summer. He’s made promises to people that he’ll return to Iraq, the Sudan, and Indonesia, and has no time for jobs on the side. Ford immediately sweetened the deal by offering to send Cooper’s salary to charities in Africa.

Fording Ahead

Tom Ford signing his products“I AM my own muse,” declares the ever-modest Tom Ford, who just last week unveiled an ambitious expansion plan – citing London as a key target – to see his eponymous brand go global within the next twelve months. Ford left Gucci, the house he revolutionised by whipping its catwalks into a sexual frenzy perfectly suited to the mood of the Nineties, three years ago with a healthy £125 million in the bank, which he has invested in his new menswear line. Focussing on the very best in luxury tailoring inspired by “all the guys I know, all my friends, who can’t find anything to wear”, Ford is already thinking about launching a line of womenswear to compliment his new aesthetic of exclusivity. But things weren’t always so high-end for the iconic designer. “One night, I was sitting in my room, thinking, ‘God, please let someone knock on the door’, because I was so lonely,” Ford tells Observer Woman, recalling his days at New York University. “Then this nice guy from my art history class came in and asked if I wanted to go to a party. Andy Warhol was at the party, and he took us to Studio 54 – wow. Even today, I still start shaking when I hear Donna Summer because it’s the music of my coming of age. Every party I have, if I’m not careful, I end up putting that music on and whirling some girl around the dancefloor.”

Victoria And Tom Ford

Victoria BeckhamFormer pop star VICTORIA BECKHAM has promised designer Tom Ford she will keep her unique fashion sense when she moves to Los Angeles next month (Jul07). Former Gucci designer Ford is good friends with the ex-Spice Girl and was concerned she would drop her own style in favor of a laid-back, hippy L.A. look.

Beckham and her family are moving to Los Angeles when her soccer ace husband David starts playing for L.A. Galaxy. She says, “I was talking to Tom recently about my move and he said, ‘Just promise me you’re not going to change the way you dress.’ “So when I go out looking like a 1940s headmistress, they might look at me as I’m odd.”
