Tom Ford confirms second film in the pipeline

All those who like their cinema to be ultra chic will be pricking up their ears at the thrilling news that Tom Ford WILL make another film. His first effort – A Single Man starring Julianne Moore and Colin Firth (who won a BAFTA and was nominated for an Oscar for his leading role), was a great success among film fans, his dedicated fashion following AND perhaps even more surprisingly, with the film critics too.

He let slip the news of his latest project at the celebrations for Diane von Furstenberg’s collaboration with Claridge’s the other day, but tantalisingly added, “I’m not telling you anything about it.” So, for the meantime, we’ll have to console ourselves with the DVD of A Single Man, and keep our ears to the ground for any more details that come our way!

Tom Ford Shoes: Too Far? or Just Far Enough?

Tom Ford shoesTom Ford. The gripes are many. Adjectives like over-priced & gaudy. Phrases like style over substance. Warranted or not, Tom Ford’s designs leave people talking. This, of course, is in regard to his suits. But his shoes?…I imagine the reaction is about the same. I admit that some of these are a-bit-much. The fake patina/dyed toes don’t do a whole lot for me. But I really like his shoe-lasts (the shape of the shoe). They may not be the most classic or elegant, but they are sleek. Sometimes, you want to step out and get a reaction. For sure, one should get his shoe staple-game up. But where to go from there? Easy. The show stopper. And where that is concerned, Tom Ford may be your man.
