Tom enlists two of Giorgio’s top guns
Tom Ford and Giorgio Armani’s shared affinity for exacting standards evidently goes beyond mutual verbal admiration. Ford, whose first store on Madison Avenue bows on April 12 here, has hired two of Il Signore Greige’s senior men’s wear staffers from his nearby flagship five blocks south. Ed Carbonell, the veteran Armani sales associate who was also the store’s director of special services, will now manage Ford’s new crown jewel. Joining him is Hojo Moon, who was a men’s wear manager at Armani.
