New York is getting ready for its Tom Ford moment. The New York Post reports that Tom Ford will soon open his first store on Madison Avenue. Ford’s store will contain his rapidly growing range of eponymous products including fragrances, eyewear and men’s clothing. Ford’s men’s line, which is made by Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna, will also be in specialty and department stores. Ford and his former Gucci compatriot and business partner Domenico De Sole have not shown the men’s line yet which of course only serves to heighten the mystery and desire for the products.
Those wishing to play in Ford’s paradise better have deep pockets — he has said that suits will start at $2,500. Will the former creator of sexy lay-about clothing for Gucci be able to create the ultimate power suit? He certainly looked pretty cute at the recent GLAAD media awards, trading his usual open-necked outfit for a bit of buttoned-up sexiness.
